Wait, was that the one where the boy (or the girl?) gets stung by bees and dies?
Yes, the boy, the main character Vada's best friend, dies from bee stings trying to get a ring back that Vada lost. It's so sad .
Ah yes, that's right

I'm lol'ing that you guys have been talking about My Girl.. I did love that film. I was making beehives last week too lol
I loved Mary Poppins, The Goonies, The Princess Bride, Labyrinth, Big and Beetlejuice when I was growing up.
There was also a film called the Adventures of Milo and Otis, about a little dog and a cat I think? I was quite small when I watched that one, but I remember really liking it? . I also think it might have made me cry?

I don't remember a lot of films that I watched as a kid. I do remember a few that me and my two sisters were obsessed with though.

I love this conversation!
My favorite movies when I was a kid were
Mary Poppins Labyrinth The Goonies Neverending Story Home Alone Gremlins ET Splash The Wizard of Oz Fantasia Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Ferris Bueller's Day Off All Indiana Jones The Jewel of the Nile Romancing the Stone
And there's probably more...
For some odd reason I also liked to watch grown-up movies back then and one of my favorites was Carlos Saura's Carmen, based on the famous opera. I saw that movie so many times when I was like 7, 8 years, my cousins started hating it and they mention this till today. LOL

OMG, I forgot about Splash! I was thinking of movies classifief as children's movies mostly, and looking at lists of kid's movies, so I left out a lot that weren't actually classified as children's movies.
The Indiana Jones movies are were definitely three of my favorite movies as a kid. Still love them.
Also:
Ferris Bueller's Day Off Monty Python & the Holy Grail Sister Act (1 & 2, especially 2) Bill & Ted's Excellent Journey Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead Ghostbusters (1 & 2) Young Frankenstein Spaceballs Robin Hood: Men In Tights The Mask Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1 & 2) The Three Amigos (with Steve Martin) Troop Beverly Hills Kindergarten Cop

Loved the Sister Act films too! They were on our obsessions list aswell. The films we used to watch all the time were very musical themed. Lol.

I was watching Beethoven 2 yesterday while I was at the gym. Cute.
I was also obsessed with Steve Martin (Father of the Bride), John Candy (Uncle Buck!) and Bill Murray (Groundhog Day).

Just saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo with dad and my stepmom. It was nice. I think I would have enjoyed the movie better if I hadn't already seen the Swedish version and read the book, but it was still very good. Rooney Mara is great and Daniel Craig is sooo charming. Now that's man...
Sidenote, why people insist on talking during the film in a theater? You are not home!

I think we once talked about dystopias in books. Well when it comes to dystopias in movies I think this one is a must. What a masterpiece. Gillian showing his genius by mixing the future with bossa:

I watched The Rocker last night with Emma Stone and Rainn Wilson. Was pretty funny but it made Glee look well-paced.

I went and saw the new Underworld movie last night. That's how you do Vampires vs Werewolves. Take note Twilight.

I really want to watch The Mask again. It's been so many years since I've seen it. "Hey Pachuco!" by Royal Crown Revue played on one of my Pandora radio stations earlier, and made me remembered this scene- "Hey Pachuco!"- The Mask
And related to that second vid, this is for you Euro peeps that had never heard of I Love Lucy until that convo a few weeks back in the fanfic thread - "Cuban Pete"- I Love Lucy

I just watched Disney's The Princess & the Frog. I don't know why it took me three years to get around to it. So much better, and funnier than most kid's movies these days. I've also missed the classic Disney animation style.

I saw The Help yesterday. It was pretty good, even though same parts were obviously made to make people cry or something, which annoys me a bit.
I hope Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer both win the Oscar, they are terrific.
And Emma Stone is great! I love that she is so awkward sometimes. Her voice is funny. I feel she is going to be a great star pretty soon.
