Yup!
It was fun discussing with you Mike, but now I really have to run. Time is running away from me, and I have to get the turkey in the oven and start making the salad and such!

If I don't have time to peep back in until next year, I wish you all an excellent new year!

Yes, but i've been trying for years, so I don't hold much hope... lol.

I'm starting 2012 with a quiet meal... lets see how that goes for starters.

I feel rather pathetic on this holiday already. I'm sitting on my couch drinking coffee, listening to showtunes on Pandora and dreading going to work. To make matters worse, I used fake sugar in my coffee and it made it taste funny...

Well, new years here kinnda went half down the drain.
Me and a friend have been planning this, and she was bringing her son. Her mother and sister who are my neighbors were coming, her sisters boyfriend, and another neighbor of mine.

And you will never guess what... My friend shows up drugged out of her mind. I had been looking forward to this day so much, and I've been cooking and preparing, and when she walked in my heart just sank. She's had a little problem earlier this year, but she promised she was done with it. But then she shows up here like that and WITH HER SON!

The rest of us tried to make it as pleasant an evening as possible, but you could tell the mood was a bit off because of her. Her mother stayed for dinner and desserts and a little chat before she had to go down to her apartement, and as she left she told her daughter just what she thought of her. Then soon my friend then packs her stuff together and tells her son they are going home. Her son was supposed to be sleeping downstairs at his grandmas place, so as soon as she was gone out the door I had to phone her and tell her to get outside and stop her from taking him with her.

And just now the rest of the people left. My friends sister and her boyfriend were going to a party, and my other neighbor was ill, so she wanted to go home. Perfectly understandable. I wasn't expecting anyone to stay the whole night except for my friend, and I am soooo disappointed in her, I feel ill to my stomach.

How could she do this on a night like tonight? She knew she was coming to me, that her family would be here, and most importantly, her son, who is only 6.

I'm gonna open a bottle of wine and cuddle with my cat, and try to get in a better mood for the fireworks in one and a half hour.

Lilly that sucks! I'm sorry she did it on a day like this. Hope you'll get the chance to talk to her about this, and make sure you'll tell her exactly what you think

If only I was a confrontational person, I would. But I don't have it in me. I'll ignore it unless she brings it up first, which she probably won't out of shame. And I hope she is deeply ashamed.
She'll get it from her mother and sister though.

But that she could do this on a night she was spending with her son. He's not stupid, he knows whats up. The poor boy.

Anyway, ten minutes to midnight! Happy new year!!

That's just... shit. I'm sorry Lilly. Don't you hate looking forward to something and then someone fucks it up. And the fact that she was like that in front of her son is ridiculous.

Fucking hate him. And he's a dick to her..... She was just all over me, arm around me, feeling around- "ribs are sexy" apparently, and what killed me was her leaning into the side of my face and whispering shit that i couldn't understand because i was distracted haha.
Well, the Glee movie wasn't so much just "on" at the girl's (a different girl's) house...i intentionally put it on that channel hahah.

The fireworks are awesome.......... I missed them this year though!!

IDK about your friends situation but this time of the year can be really.. hard. Specially for people with that kind of problems.
