It's called raclette. It's French. That picture is a traditional one. They put a big wedge of cheese on a spike the the two plates are lowered over it and melt the cheese onto a plate and you eat it with boiled potatoes and various meats. It is immense.

We do raclette pretty much every New Years Eve - YUM!

Sounds like the same ice cream that I had in Turkey. Gooey and sticky I think it was. Looked like regular ice cream that had melted a bit. I ended up eating just the fruits and not the ice cream
I'm not really that big of a fan of ice cream to begin with though. I prefer those... uhm.. what the hell do you call it in english? We say water ice, direct translation, hehe.. I suspect that is not it.
