| I used to read Garfield comic strips in the newspaper Random cat fact: A female cat, and a male cat, if not spayed and neutered, and allowed to roam free, will produce on average 12 kittens a year. The next year these 14 cats will be able to produce 84 kittens. Within 10 years the number of cats will have reached over 89 million. Importance of spaying and neutering!! | |

| A lot of people should get "spayed and neutered" too. | |

| stitches are off, cone is still on. He said it's better to wait a couple more days to be absolutely sure it's healed. | |

| What!? Nooooo!! Poor little Santana! Why would he take the stitches off if he's not absolutely sure it's healed yet? | |

| It's healed all right, only where she bit a stitch off last week it's still a bit nasty. The whole wound still looks nasty tbh, but that's how it's supposed to look, I guess. She's really really fine though, and she doesn't mind the cone anymore. The only problem is that I can't look at her tummy because it looks so gross...! Hope the hair will grow back soon. | |

| It's good she doesn't mind the cone, considering she has to keep wearing it for a few more days. I'm a little concerned because you say the wound looks nasty still though. What do you mean by nasty? Isn't it just a clean cut with a little scabbing? The hair may take a little while. I remember that's what bothered me the most with mine. The hair took forever on them, and they looked so weird with their sides shaved like that | |

| no no no, it's clean and nice, but it's still a wound, and I'm the type of person who faints even reading about stuff like that. She doensn't have the sides shaved though, just a little spot on the tummy. She looks fine until she rolls on her back | |

| Oh, good!! I was envisioning all sorts of nastyness, with infection and the likes So they go in through the stomach over there? Here they go in from the side, so that's why mine was shaved there. It's not like they were shaved all around for a little cut | |

| My cat has a side panel too. We didn't have to pay for the surgery either because she was a stray and we took her in. Which I think is a pretty good scheme, helps stop more and more stray cats as Lilly pointed out previously. | |

| More people should take in strays, or at least help them get a home or something. Well done Charlie! People just like to complain over the overpopulation of cats, and forget that it was humans who took them out of their natural habitat and brought them into our lives and homes and made them dependant on us. Even if it wasn't us today that did that, I still think the responsibility lies with us. | |

| Seems I've got myself a new kitty Well, temporarily at least. Here he's being held by the lady that found him. She would have had to let him back out tonight if no one could take him, because she has 4 dogs and another male cat and it was too much for her. So I called her and said to drop him off at my place, and that I'd take him until we found his owners or a new permanent home for him. He's a real beauty! Such a pretty cat! I'll take a new photo of him later when he's all settled down and such, cause he's wandering around here now. Lilly isn't all too happy about it though, but I've placed her up high, so she can feel safe while watching him look around and getting to know his new home. Should find a name to call him though, at least while he's here. Any suggestions? | |

| ^have you found a name yet?
San just pooped all over the shower. I left her litter box inside the shower for the night, and she missed it! She sat in the box with her behind sticking out, I can't believe it. I guess I should be glad she did it in the shower and not on the floor...

| Yeah, we gave him the name Simba Aww, San! Mine have done that as well. Sometimes they even preferred the shower or bathtub over the litterbox. Luckily it's easy to clean though | |

| Just got back from the vet, which was a pointless trip. I thought I could just go for the drop-in that they have after hours, but turns out that I needed an appointment if they were to shave off his tangled fur because they have to put him under for that. Should have just called ahead and asked before I put him in the cage and walked all the way there in this shitty weather. Plus side though, we got some fresh air But we got an appointment for him in 10 days to neuter and shave him And I got Lilly an appointment for a senior check up the day before, since she's becoming an old lady now. Anyway, here's a new photo of him. The office chair is a favourite with this gentleman as well. I wonder why both the cats love this chair so much? And Eli, if you think Lilly looked big, Simba is even bigger | |

| he's HUGE! omg! my lady here is getting fat pretty fast, but this one could probably eat her whole. How long are you going to keep him? And why do you have to shave him? | |

| He's here either until we find his real owner, if he has one, or until someone wants to adopt him. I'm fostering him for the Animal Proctection service. I have said that I'll take him permanently if it takes long for someone to want him though. Not too many people want an already adult cat.
He needs to have his chest shaved, because his long fur has gotten all tangled in knots, and I've tried to cut it off with scissors, but it's too close to his skin :/

| adopting is such a wonderful thing. I don't get why people would want only kittens, older cats need love too! Same goes for dogs and children. | |

| Indeed! I know that the next time I'm gonna get a new cat, it'll be an adult or old cat. I think maybe I'll be one of those that takes in those older ones that just needs a good home for the last few years of their lives. | |
