Officially midsummer is when the turn of the sun is though, I think, but I don't know the date. Unofficially St. Hans is midsummer. But end of July, beginning of August is usually when we have the nicest weather before it's all over.
And you're gonna have summer all the way til the end of September? Our stores have already started preparing for Christmas by then, and effectively ruining the fun of it, because they start so early.

Anyway, I gotta go. The gran just called, she's in some serious pain and needed me to come over. I don't know what's going on...

Oh, and I have absolutely no idea why that saint is celebrated, or who he was. Probably some religious thing that I don't care or pay attention to

We have something similar in Brazil: São João (St. John), on June 24. Fires, lots of food, games for kids, dances. It's very popular in the countryside.

How did I miss the St Hans day thing on the other page? Whilst I've never heard of it and am aware Hans is probably a boy, I may adopt it as my new saints day anyway

Probably going to bed before 11pm. I'm so tired, and I didn't even go to the gym this morning. I think we are giving up on gym for the moment. Too hot and the place is not that pleasant. Everybody is just exhausted all the time. I just need it to be cooler. Today it's a bit better, but it's still 33 degrees at 11pm. I had the AC on all nights since I go here, almost a month ago.

We ordered pizza for overtime and it's the best pizza I've ever had. Lol. Mmm...

That's crazy. I don't mind having the AC on all the time though. I bet it's driving you mental.

Today we recorded a demo-version of one of the songs we will further work on in the recording-studio on the weekend.





I'm really looking forward to record this, we already found a cellist to accompany us with this song
She'll come to our final band-rehearsal on Friday

Edit: excuse the bad quality, it's just a recording of the normal Band-rehearsal

I look forward to listening to it when I get home Dina.

I just had to google St. Hans, and apparently it is on the 24th here as well. Wonder why there was a note in the shop then about the fire being tomorrow
Seem like we do what we want over here, never mind the date May have to do with weather.

It is the celebration of the baptists Johannes (you may call him John, since St. John? and we say Hans for short then probably). Some people also call it Jonsok which is pagan I think? And just a midsummer celebration, nothing to do with church.

Anyway, the gran is fine. She was having gas pains so nothing serious.

I, too, am looking forward to having a listen when I get home, Dina.
